are experiencing minor delays. oakland and san jose have gate holds or arrival delays of 15 minutes or less and san francisco is also running smoothly tonight but about 10% of flights have had long delays and that is over 45 minutes. >>> this storm is racing across the bay area, packing a narrow cold front to produce the moderate to heavy rain as we just saw in jade's live shot. you can see at storm tracker two, the main focus in the southern half of the bay. this is the radar loop over -- over the past three hours. picking up in san jose and around the east bay around the fremont area. that darker shade of green, you can count on heavier downpours closer to union city, also out towards skylark, niles boulevard and school street. as we shift the maps up here, you'll notice still some lingering rain showers in the east bay. here is hayward and it is showing you activity to the east toward hayward and around the castro valley area as well. you can put that out in the lower left of your screen. quite a bit of rain on the radar and we are expecting a different weather forecast for tomorrow. coming up w

on the run after a deadly san jose crime spree now has a hefty price on his head. friday night's 90 minutes of mayhem included four armed robberies, a deadly carjacking attempt, and a police shootout. cbs 5 reporter len ramirez spoke with a friend of the man. the victim had the car less than a day? >> a couple of hours. he had just bought the vehicle earlier in the day and later that night he was charged in it. it took the life of one young man and almost took the life of a police officer. >> reporter: steven mosley can't believe it's true. his good friend aspiring hip- hop artist rory parkpettiford was just alive and well, the next day he was gone. shot dead in an attempted carjack, at a 7-eleven. >> he was here just picking up some drinks. it jus sucks, somebody just running up and do that. >> reporter: it began friday night at 7:40 p.m. police say masked suspects robbed a little caesar's pizza an story road in san jose, then a gas station, a jack-in-the- box and a spa before they tried to change cars by stealing the bmw at 7-eleven on kylie road in west san jose. after this shooting an

and the update on the investigation there to the case. >> reporter: yeah. i checked in with the san jose police department spokesperson for the update on this case. they are still search for a second suspect or at least that's what was happening all this week as they released a sketch on that expect now hee mailed me back and said per the homicide unit we aren't confirming or denying any new information. that came after i asked them if an arrest had been made. >> the man was shot and killed last week. one of the suspects a 26-year- old was in court wednesday. police say he and another man robbed four businesses, murdered a 22-year-old in a carjacking and participated in a shoot out with two officers one of the officers was hit and taken to the hospital with minor injuries. willbanks was arrested the next morning. officers released a sketch of the second suspect, a 20,000- dollar reward is being offered for his arrest. the funeral for the victim is being held this morning at 11. we will continue to talk to police and ask them about updates on that second suspect and bring you new information on

buzz that it is a mile out there was 46 degrees in san jose. 54 in san francisco and as we take a look at numbers and to the afternoon plenty of 60s to talk about. it will be a little cooler than yesterday with fremont at 67 and 66 in sunnyvale. we will have some sunny skies in the east bay. fairfield 67 walnut creek 68. a cooler in the north bay 63 for palo-in downtown silver says those checking as 65 degrees. a cool 62 if you're headed to ocean beach. satellite and radar shows the system we're tracking rotating out here. it will approach the bay area. we will have more in the way of light rain associated with this system as well. when he out friday and is blanketing pretty eyes of the bay area. there a few cells a pretty heavy downpours at times but at 12:00 p.m. tomorrow heavy rain expected for the livermore valley. forces of the 80 corridor and of the north bay as well. keep an umbrella handy it could be a messy the commute home. we will continue with the showers as we head into saturday morning. saturday afternoon should be a dry one of mostly sunny skies but later on that night i

'm jon kelley. san jose police on the scene of a deadly hit and run. that is where bob rydell is. what can you tell us? what's the latest? >> reporter: good morning, jon. we're here at the intersection of allen rock and jackson in san jose. we're waiting for the coroner to arrive to complete their part of the investigation and remove the body, as you can see, it is still in the middle of the road. it appears this person was carrying a backpack of some sort, perhaps trying to cross the street when they were hit and killed. this was a hit and run. police are looking for that driver. the only description they have is the dark colored vehicle heading wet bound on allen rock. we understand at least one witness who flagged down a bus, offer help, was able to identify the car. route 70 by the way is being rerouted. a investigation will focus on the road conditions at the time. it was just after 6:00 this happened so it was still dark out and most likely raining at the time. you can see, it's been raining off and on. so whether weather conditions played a role in the accident will be part of t
